ADAPT: Developing a Diverse Workforce: Advancing Data Science for Addiction Research and Professional Training (R25)

The R25 ADAPT (Advancing Data Science for Addiction Research and Professional Training) grant aims to develop a diverse workforce in addiction data science. The project will create a scalable short course and educational content focusing on addiction data analytics through a health equity lens. Key objectives include building an immersive, tailored addiction data science skills course covering FAIR data principles, computational methods, artificial intelligence, and big data analysis, as well as implementing novel program evaluation and dissemination methods. The expected outcome is a widely accessible education intervention that supports emerging researchers from diverse backgrounds, aligns with NIH NIDA's mission, and accelerates understanding of addiction's complexity by addressing the intersection of clinical expertise and data science.
